Brew your own water kefir at home. This kit has everything you need to make your first batch, and to keep brewing for years to come.

Here's what's included:

  • Live water kefir grains (60g): the heart of your brew. Feed them sugar and water and they'll turn it into a tangy, lightly fizzy drink, and they grow with every batch, so you can share them with friends.
  • Large 1.5L glass jar: the perfect vessel for your first ferment.
  • Temperature strip: keep an eye on the ideal brewing temperature.
  • pH strips: check the acidity of your kefir for a safe and successful ferment.
  • Fine mesh strainer: separate your finished kefir from the grains after each batch.
  • Wooden mixing spoon: for gentle stirring.
  • Breathable cloth cover: keeps insects out while letting your brew breathe.

How to use

Work into a lather with warm water and use on face and body. Rest the bar on a draining soap dish and let it dry between uses so it lasts longer.

Loving my new hobby!

Can’t get enough of this fermentation kit

I absolutely love it, I’m already on my third batch since getting my fermentation kit and it tastes fantastic. It’s also so much fun. I’ve been experimenting with different flavours and honestly, there are no wrong ingredients.

My absolute favourite is ginger + lemon, and the next one is basil + raspberries. For people who love experimenting and being creative, it’s a brilliant gift idea.

Lovely kit to get started

I ordered this kit whilst on annual leave after a tough few months at work where I was close to burnout and had zero energy left.

It's so easy to follow the instructions included with this kit and minimum effort for delicious healthful results!

The relaxing hobby I was after!

Would recommend as a gift (to yourself or someone else), as the personalised hand written message and figs thrown in make it feel extra special.

So far I have made this with the 2nd ferment with fresh ginger and leaving it the extra time to fizz as directed in the instructions and it is sooo delicious.
Current version is in 2nd ferment with ginger and green cardamom.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Our kefir soaps are gentle enough for all skin types. If your skin is very sensitive, start with the Unscented bar: it has no essential oils at all.

Can I use it on my face?

Yes, every bar is suitable for face and body. Avoid contact with eyes, and if irritation occurs, stop using it.

Why kefir in a soap?

Water kefir naturally contains gluconic and lactic acids, which act as a gentle exfoliator to remove dead skin cells and leave skin feeling smooth and refreshed. We use our own fig-infused kefir in every bar.

Are the soaps vegan and palm-oil free?

Yes. Every bar is vegan and palm-oil free, made on an olive oil base with shea butter, coconut and castor oils.

How do I make my bar last?

Keep it on a draining soap dish out of the stream of water, and let it dry fully between uses.

Why does my bar look slightly different?

Each bar is handmade and hand-cut in Devon, so shape, colour and weight vary a little from bar to bar.
